Graeme Snow

Known as Snowy, Graeme is from Adelaide, South Australia, and has a professional background in electronics and telecommunications engineering. He joined the Australian Antarctic Division as a Radio Technical Officer in 1990, wintering at Casey station in 1991 and spending a total of 16 months there. Since then he has spent a further 4 summers working and living at Australian stations as well as numerous visits to stations of other countries. He has spent much time at sea on extended research voyages in the Southern Ocean and he has been involved in many field research programs as a field assistant in areas as diverse as glaciology, oceanography, penguin and seabird monitoring and research, seal and krill biology, whale observations and acoustics. In the polar regions he has visited much of East Antarctica, the Antarctic Peninsula, the Falklands, South Georgia, Heard Is. and many other subs- Antarctic islands, as well as Iceland, the Svalbard archipelago and Greenland in the north.
