Mike Hann

From Vancouver Island, Canada, Mike Hann is an expedition leader, skipper, musician, and festival director with over a decade of experience working in Antarctica. As a whale watching and diving guide, he’s worked with endangered orcas in British Columbia and humpback whales in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park in Australia. Mike also played an integral role in an unprecedented Antarctic marine research expedition aboard an 18-meter sailboat in 2007. The two-month expedition’s mission was to increase the understanding of Orca and Humpback Whale populations along the Antarctic Peninsula. The team sailed across the infamous Drake Passage and around Cape Horn, an accomplishment for any sailor. More recently, Mike has spent time on northern Baffin Island, in Canada’s arctic, working with Narwhals, as well as guiding walking Polar Bear safaris along the northwestern coast of Hudson Bay in Canada. Mike has worked with Antarctica21 since 2012.
