Diana Galimberti

Diana was born in Italy. Driven by her passion for Patagonia and Antarctica, she settled in Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, working as a national parks guide and sailor on yachts offering charter exploration of Cape Horn. Her first time in Antarctica was aboard an Argentine Navy vessel in 1989 escorting a group of tourists. Since then, she has returned numerous times as naturalist guide, expedition leader and observer. Author of one of the first field guides on Antarctica, she cooperated with the Argentine Government on Antarctic tourism management projects. In 1995, she returned to Italy where she collaborated as logistics coordinator in the framework of a European scientific campaign on ozone research in the Arctic and the Antarctic. In 2005, she was recruited by Antarctica21 as expedition leader, and two years later she increased her collaboration as product and sales manager. In 2010, she accepted a further professional challenge by leading the department of Operations and Product for Antarctica21.
