Francesco Contini

Francesco was born in Italy, and has lived his entire adult life in Canada, where he graduated from York University. Francesco was involved with his family’s wine business back in Italy, and in 1996 he joined the adventure travel industry. He has since worked in a number of senior sales and marketing roles with leading polar expedition companies. He also worked as a travel columnist for The Globe and Mail, Canada’s prestigious national daily newspaper. Francesco now leads the team responsible for Antarctica21’s commercial operations. During his career, Francesco has travelled extensively around the world and has established close partnerships with a vast network of polar travel specialists and tour operators that collaborate with Antarctica21. He splits his time between his base in Toronto and Antarctica21’s head office in Punta Arenas. Known for his creativity and passion for adventure travel, Francesco feels privileged to be able to apply his energy and talents to the promotion of Antarctic tourism. Francesco speaks English, Spanish and Italian.
